A video showing Congress MP Tariq Anwar being carried by villagers during a flood inspection in Katihar, Bihar, has gone viral, leading to a wave of criticism. The video, which captured Anwar’s visit to the flood-affected areas of Manihari and Barari on Sunday, prompted the BJP to express disapproval. Anwar has since addressed the controversy, explaining that he was experiencing sunstroke due to the high temperatures. He mentioned that the villagers, concerned for his health, offered to carry him to prevent him from navigating the muddy conditions. He stated that he felt unwell because of the heat. Anwar also highlighted the support received by the opposition during recent political events, indicating optimism about the upcoming elections. The BJP, including Shehzad Poonawalla, criticized Anwar’s actions, questioning the appropriateness of such behavior during a flood inspection.
