Security forces engaged in a gunfight with terrorists in the Kulgam region of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, resulting in the death of one militant. The encounter, which took place in the Guddar forest, is part of an ongoing counter-terrorism operation. The operation was initiated following intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists in the area. A joint team of the police, Army, and CRPF launched a search, leading to an exchange of fire. An army JCO was injured during the firefight. Meanwhile, authorities also reported the arrest of a Pakistani infiltrator in the R.S. Pura sector along the International Border. The infiltrator, a resident of Sargodha, Pakistan, was apprehended by the BSF. He was challenged, and shots were fired before he was taken into custody near the border fence. The arrested individual is being questioned to determine the reason for his attempted illegal entry into Indian territory, and some Pakistani currency was recovered.
