The New York Times revealed the details of the operation, in which Navy SEAL commandos were tasked with installing an electronic device to intercept Kim’s communications. The mission, which required presidential approval, went awry when an encounter with a small boat resulted in the deaths of three North Korean civilians. Former President Trump claims he was unaware of the operation. The SEALs, who had spent months preparing, used a nuclear submarine and mini-submarines to approach the North Korean coast. Their mission was to secretly install the surveillance equipment. When they encountered a small boat near the shore, the commandos engaged, leading to the deaths of the occupants. The civilians were unarmed and appeared to be gathering seafood. In an attempt to conceal the incident, the commandos damaged the bodies. The mission was aborted. The event took place during the time of nuclear negotiations between Trump and Kim. North Korea has not commented on the incident. Both the White House and the Pentagon have declined to comment, and it is alleged that the mission was not reported to important Congressional figures.
