The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) began a three-day All India Coordination Meeting in Jodhpur on Friday, bringing together senior officials from the RSS and its associated organizations. The meeting is designed to address a variety of issues, including the upcoming RSS centenary celebrations, the ‘Panch Parivartan’ program, the National Education Policy, development efforts in tribal areas, and the challenge of population disparities.
The meeting opened with the recitation of the organization’s mantra. RSS leaders Mohan Bhagwat and Dattatreya Hosabale paid respects to Bharat Mata. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma also participated, meeting with senior officials before returning to Jaipur.
The event sees the participation of around 320 key officials from 32 RSS-affiliated organizations. The three-day meeting (September 5-7) will involve the sharing of experiences and accomplishments from the past year. Discussions will focus on the Panch Parivartan principles (social harmony, environmental sustainability, family awareness, self-reliance, and civic responsibility), the upcoming RSS centenary celebrations, and the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020.
On the first day, RSS-affiliated organizations showcased their latest initiatives and promoted coordination among different groups.
The meeting venue has been specially decorated, with prominent displays at the entrances. The Rani Abbakka gate celebrates the contributions of Indian women who resisted colonial and Mughal rule 500 years ago. The Haldighati gate and rangolis of Meera Bai and Amrita Devi highlight themes of valor and environmental protection.
The coordination meeting aims to share the year’s achievements while advancing the core principles of the RSS, including Panch Parivartan, social harmony, family awareness, environmental consciousness, self-reliance, and civic duty. It will also review the RSS centenary celebrations and the progress of the National Education Policy 2020.
Before the meeting’s start, Shanta Akka, the chief operator of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti, emphasized that various RSS organizations contribute to nation-building and will be a topic of discussion.
In contrast to previous RSS meetings, the presence of leaders from the Rajasthan unit of the BJP is more noticeable this time. Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje met with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for 25 minutes two days before the meeting. BJP Rajasthan state president Madan Rathore also attended on the first day, staying for approximately 3 hours.
Following Rathore, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma was present for over two and a half hours. Sources indicate that the Chief Minister and the state president’s attendance was primarily formal, without specific meetings with RSS chief Bhagwat.
Sunil Ambekar, the RSS’s publicity head, responded to questions about potential discussions concerning the BJP president, stating that the party leadership makes its own decisions independently.
The meeting included the Sarsanghchalak and Sarkaryawah, along with all six Sahsarkaryawahs. Other attendees included BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda, organization minister BL Santosh, Vishwa Hindu Parishad President Alok Kumar, Milind Parande, key representatives from the Rashtra Sevika Samiti, and other organizations. The meeting also welcomed leaders from the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Saksham, the Ex-Servicemen Service Council, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, and Seema Jagran Manch.
