Meerut Mavericks will be playing in the final of the UP T20 League 2025 on September 6th. Their journey to the final was solidified after a dominant performance in Qualifier-2 on August 4th. A standout performance by fast bowler Kartik Tyagi was instrumental in their victory over the Lucknow Falcons. Tyagi, bowling at speeds of 150 KMPH, took three wickets and further tilted the match in Meerut’s favor by securing two wickets in a single over. His performance, which included a run-out, guaranteed the team’s place in the final against Kashi Rudras, without Rinku Singh in the lineup.
The Lucknow Falcons began their chase of 144 runs with a strong start, scoring 42 runs in the first six overs. Tyagi then changed the course of the game, dismissing Lucknow’s opener, Abhay Pratap Singh. The defining moment came when Tyagi secured two wickets in one over, showcasing his skill and speed.
Tyagi’s impressive figures in the match included 3 wickets for 29 runs in 4 overs, with 9 dot balls. His outstanding bowling performance resulted in a 19-run victory for Meerut, securing their spot in the final. In this match, Madhav Kaushik captained Meerut in the absence of Rinku Singh, who is currently with the Indian team at the Asia Cup in Dubai. Meerut, who batted first, faced early pressure when Bhuvneshwar Kumar took a wicket in the first over.
