Patna, Bihar, is feeling the impact of the bandh. BJP workers are actively participating. Protests, including burning tires and road blockades, are taking place at Pachim Darwaza Morh. The demonstrations are a response to the offensive remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother at a recent event. The NDA has organized the bandh, which will last for five hours, from 7 AM to 12 PM. Essential services like hospitals, ambulances, and railways are excluded.
BJP workers staged protests in Danapur during the five-hour bandh. Protesters set tires on fire and blocked roads, with women participating in the demonstrations.
BJP leaders have targeted the INDIA alliance for the comments. BJP Bihar President Dilip Jaiswal, who was on the road protesting, said the remarks were made at an INDIA alliance event against PM Modi’s mother and demanded apologies from Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav. Sanjay Mayukh, a BJP leader, noted the participation of the women in the bandh, while BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad said the remarks were very shameful and requested apologies from Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav.
The bandh includes the closure of schools, colleges, and coaching centers. Intercity bus services, government offices, and private businesses are also shut down. However, petrol pumps, medical facilities, and essential shops are open. Railway services will continue to operate.
