Bihar will experience a 5-hour shutdown on September 4th, starting at 7 AM and ending at 12 PM, to protest the disrespectful comments aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, Heeraben. The comments were made from the stage during Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s voter rights campaign in Darbhanga. The NDA is leading the protest and has announced the shutdown. The BJP and its allies have raised the issue as a major concern. The women’s wing of the NDA will be actively involved in the shutdown. Dilip Jaiswal, the Bihar BJP state president, said that the remarks were an affront to all mothers. The organizers are aiming to minimize public disruption, with provisions for essential services. Public transportation, including buses and trains, might be affected, along with auto-taxi services. Retail stores, shopping malls, and other commercial entities might also close.
