Maruti Suzuki has launched a new SUV in India, which became available on September 3. This new vehicle is designed to compete in the compact SUV segment with established competitors like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
The SUV will be positioned within the Maruti Suzuki range between the Brezza and Grand Vitara (GV). The introduction of this new SUV has generated significant consumer interest, with expectations of new features and technology.
The SUV utilizes Suzuki’s Global C platform, which also underpins the Grand Vitara. Based on video reports, the size will be similar to the Grand Vitara in length and width. The vehicle features new DRL headlamps and headlights for a more distinctive look. Spy shots reveal the split DRL and headlamp design, along with a high bonnet, which will contribute to a strong on-road presence.
Maruti Suzuki may offer this SUV with multiple engine options to cater to diverse customer preferences. The initial launch is expected to include the K15C 1.5-liter mild-hybrid engine, which is already used in several other Maruti Suzuki models such as the Grand Vitara, XL6, Brezza, and Ertiga. The engine may be tuned to provide approximately 101 horsepower and 137 Nm of torque.
