An extraordinary case has emerged from Bemetara, Chhattisgarh, where an 81-year-old woman is struggling to prove her existence. Shail Sharma approached the Bemetara Collector’s office, challenging a death certificate that declared her deceased. She accuses her family of creating the false documentation to acquire her late husband’s valuable property. The husband had purchased 30 dismil of land in Maihar Road, Satna, MP. Initially, the land was managed by her daughter-in-law. Subsequently, the property was transferred to the daughter-in-law and her daughter, which caused the victim’s grandson and elder son to object. The shocking discovery revealed that Shail Sharma was declared dead in 1993, according to records from Maro Chowki, Bemetara. This incident reveals a disturbing exploitation of family ties for material gain. The woman has also recently traveled abroad. The case highlights the complexities surrounding property disputes and familial relationships. The administration’s actions in this case are awaited, with the hope of restoring justice to the elderly woman.
