He contrasted his policies with those of the current administration while extolling the benefits of his approach. “I settled seven wars, and numerous of those wars were because of trade,” he stated, emphasizing the role of tariffs in bolstering the US’s negotiating power. He also defended the imposition of 50% tariffs on Indian imports, pointing out what he described as a ‘one-sided’ trade relationship between the two countries. Despite this, he noted the existing amicable relationship between the US and India.
