The Mahtari Vandan Yojana, a key program of the Chhattisgarh government, continues to benefit numerous women. The monthly financial support provided by the program is enabling women’s independence. A recent announcement has been made regarding this scheme: a comprehensive door-to-door survey of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana beneficiaries will be undertaken.
This survey will address situations involving beneficiaries not being available at their registered addresses, incomplete paperwork, and cases of death, requiring new reports. The Women and Child Development Secretary, Shammi Abidi, oversaw a review of the Raipur district’s implementation of the program. The review meeting established that strict measures will be enforced against Anganwadi workers, supervisors, CDPOs, and DPOs in the event of any negligence during the survey.
Furthermore, the review meeting also stipulated that District Program Officers, Women and Child Development Officers, and officials at the regional level must now regularly inspect Anganwadis within both rural and urban settings.
