This announcement was made shortly before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the SCO Summit in Tianjin, China. The US Embassy’s post focused on the people, the ongoing advancements, and the future possibilities within the relationship, which includes innovation, entrepreneurship, defense, and other bilateral areas. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s statement on the strong friendship between the two countries was also highlighted. Separately, Prime Minister Modi characterized his discussion with President Putin as ‘excellent,’ focusing on enhanced bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors including trade, and security, while also discussing the situation in Ukraine. The meeting reinforced the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership, according to an Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs.
