September 2025 is shaping up to be a significant month for new car releases, presenting various options for prospective buyers. Around five new cars are anticipated to launch before the festive season. The launch schedule starts with Maruti, followed by the introduction of VinFast vehicles. Here’s a closer look at the cars likely to be released in September 2025.
Maruti is preparing to unveil a new SUV, manufactured in India, that will be positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara. It will be sold through Arena showrooms. Potential names include Escudo, Victorious, or Saber. Although it will likely be based on Suzuki’s Global C platform, it will be adapted with a longer wheelbase and improved cabin space.
VinFast, the Vietnamese EV company, is set to enter the Indian market with the VF6. Production of the VF6 SUV has recently begun at VinFast’s plant in Tamil Nadu. The VF6 will come in two variants, with six exterior color options and two interior themes depending on the chosen variant.
VinFast will also launch the VF7, an additional electric SUV, alongside the VF6. Both models were previously showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier in 2025. The VF7 will be available in three variants, offering six exterior color choices and two interior themes.
The Mahindra Thar 3-door model, first launched in 2020, is due for an update. Mahindra will launch a refreshed Thar in September 2025, featuring design and feature enhancements. These enhancements will be similar to those seen in the Thar Rox, including circular LED headlights and new alloy wheels. Expect a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, a 10.25-inch full-digital driver display, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and TPMS.
