In a tribute to the late former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Atal Parisar has been inaugurated in Ward No. 22 of Sasa Holi, Tilda Nevra. The ceremony was attended by Raipur MP Brijmohan Agrawal, Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma, Municipal President Chandrakala Khu Man Verma, and other distinguished guests, who performed a traditional inauguration. The project, funded by 28.16 lakh rupees from the infrastructure fund, features a striking statue of Atal Ji, a specially designed pedestal, and walls and floors finished with beautiful granite, all complemented by electricity.
Brijmohan Agrawal expressed his honor in inaugurating the Atal Parisar and spoke about Atal Ji’s universally respected stature, even among political opponents. He credited Atal Ji’s leadership with revolutionizing rural development, liberating farmers from oppressive moneylenders, and implementing the successful Kisan Credit Scheme. Tank Ram Verma lauded Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s accomplishments as a statesman, poet, writer, and editor, which culminated in him receiving the Bharat Ratna. He emphasized Atal Ji’s historic role in making India a nuclear power by conducting the Pokhran tests and his impact on village connectivity through the Prime Minister’s Rural Roads Scheme. Municipal President Smt. Chandrakala Khu Man Verma extended her gratitude to Chief Minister Sai and the Chhattisgarh government for erecting the statue, and recognized Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s pivotal role in the formation of the state of Chhattisgarh.
