Hales partnered with Colin Munro to create a powerful opening stand, reaching a century partnership. Their combined efforts put pressure on the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Despite the efforts of Guyana’s captain, Imran Tahir, with the ball, the Knight Riders’ batting prowess, ultimately sealed the victory. Hales’ contribution also saw him move up the ranks to become the second-highest run-scorer in T20 cricket.
