Police investigations into the murder of a woman in Ranchi have unveiled the complex motives behind the crime. The victim, who had been involved in a 15-year illicit relationship, was allegedly murdered by her lover, Danish Qureshi, and his accomplice, Mohammad Saud Qazi. Danish, a resident of Ranchi, and Qazi, from West Bengal, have been arrested. A black Scorpio car used in the crime has also been seized by the authorities.
The murder occurred on August 24th in the Tamar police station area, with the perpetrators attempting to stage the scene as a road accident.
A complaint was filed on August 25th by Kareena Devi, who reported that her mother had been living with Naseem Qureshi for 15 years. The mother had visited Naseem’s home on August 24th and never returned, and her phone was unreachable.
In response to the serious nature of the case, a dedicated team was established under the direction of the Ranchi SSP. Led by the Bundu DSP, the team employed technical investigations and apprehended Danish Qureshi, the son of Naseem Qureshi, and Mohammad Saud Qazi. Following intense questioning, both suspects confessed.
The investigation revealed that the victim had been having an affair with Danish’s father, Naseem Qureshi, for over a decade. She repeatedly sought financial assistance from Naseem, which caused family conflict. This prompted Danish, his mother, and father to plot her demise. Naseem, his wife, and son left for Hajj on August 18th.
On August 24th, the woman visited their home to request money, and was taken in a black Scorpio car by Danish and Saud. They took her to Tatisilve where they forced her to consume alcohol. They then killed her and disposed of her body on the road, intentionally running her over with the vehicle to create the appearance of an accident.
