Anurag Kashyap’s film ‘Nishaanchi’ is set to debut in cinemas, and the teaser has garnered significant attention. Kashyap has now provided insight into the film’s early stages, disclosing his original vision of collaborating with Sushant Singh Rajput on the project. However, this plan was never realized. While the script attracted numerous actors, the film’s release is now scheduled for nine years after its announcement. Kashyap discussed the details.
During a discussion, Kashyap explained that he had envisioned creating ‘Nishaanchi’ with Sushant Singh Rajput. However, Rajput’s involvement in major productions like ‘Dil Bechara’ and ‘Drive’ under Dharma Productions changed the course. ‘My film was no longer a priority,’ Kashyap said. ‘I also moved on, and Sushant stopped communicating. Consequently, I proceeded without him. I announced the project with him back in 2016.’
He also mentioned that many actors had read the ‘Nishaanchi’ script and showed interest in the project. However, no collaborations were finalized.
The release date for ‘Nishaanchi’ is set for September 19, 2025. The film’s narrative focuses on twin brothers who possess vastly different personalities, exploring themes of love, brotherhood, and revenge. It examines human nature’s diverse aspects and their consequences. The cast includes Vineet Kumar Singh, Kumud Mishra, and Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, among others.
