The Bastar region is experiencing a catastrophic situation due to the relentless heavy rainfall over the last two days. The deluge has led to severe flooding, with roads rendered impassable, bridges destroyed, and rivers overflowing their banks. Many villages are entirely submerged, and the district headquarters is now cut off. Local administration is closely monitoring the situation. The army has been deployed to conduct rescue operations. The Indian Air Force is actively involved, utilizing helicopters to provide relief supplies and evacuate people from the affected areas. The Chief Minister has also voiced their concerns about the challenging conditions in Bastar while on an international trip.
