The Voter Rights Yatra, organized by the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar, continued with a visit to the Janaki Temple in Sitamarhi. Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, and Pappu Yadav offered prayers at the temple on the 12th day of the yatra.
Rahul Gandhi had previously expressed his desire to visit the Janaki Temple. While initial security concerns had caused delays, the visit was eventually approved after the route was finalized. Despite the initial challenges, Rahul and Tejashwi were able to visit the temple. Priyanka Gandhi had planned to join, but returned to Delhi due to unresolved route issues. Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav attended the temple and offered prayers early in the morning.
Krishna Allaveru from the Congress party emphasized the importance of respecting all religions and their deities. Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram expressed prayers for the welfare of the people and the progress of the nation and Bihar.
The Voter Rights Yatra started on August 17 from Sasaram, with the participation of Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, Dipankar Bhattacharya (CPI-ML), Mukesh Sahni (VIP), and other leaders from the Mahagathbandhan. The yatra arrived in Sitamarhi from Muzaffarpur on Wednesday.
