Maruti Suzuki has started production of the e-Vitara, its initial electric car model. This milestone represents a first for both Maruti Suzuki and Suzuki Motor Corporation. The e-Vitara’s roll-out was initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Maruti Suzuki’s plant in Gujarat. The electric SUV is planned for export to over 100 countries.
The e-Vitara is expected to launch in India on September 3rd. This launch will bring Maruti Suzuki into a segment already occupied by companies like Tata Motors, MG, and Mahindra. Despite its later entry, Maruti Suzuki aims to become a major competitor, with the e-Vitara playing a crucial role. The India-made SUV will be distributed across almost every continent worldwide, with the exception of the Arctic and Antarctica. This step is a significant milestone for the Indian automotive industry and aligns with the company’s global strategy.
