Travelers heading back to Bihar for Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath Puja will have an easier journey, thanks to the Bihar government’s new bus service. The service will provide buses for those traveling home for the festivals. Running from September 20 to November 30, the buses will serve routes to Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. These services will be managed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to ensure there are enough buses to meet the needs of the many travelers.
A meeting took place at the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) premises in Phulwarisharif on Monday. The meeting was chaired by administrator Atul Verma, and bus operators were in attendance. Several important instructions were given during the meeting.
Online Booking Begins September 1st. Online ticket booking will be available starting September 1, 2025, through the BSRTC website. Passengers who cannot book online can get tickets from e-ticketing machines on the buses.
Passenger Perks. Affordable ticket prices will be available for passengers during the festivals. All buses will be clearly marked with the BSRTC logo and any required stickers. Buses going to Delhi and Haryana will have two drivers. Information about fares and discounts will be clearly posted on the buses.
Overcharging is not permitted. Alcohol is not allowed on the buses and will be a punishable offense. All required paperwork for the buses, like taxes, PUC, insurance, and permits, is mandatory. Drivers must stay within the speed limits.
Train Tickets are Hard to Get. During the festive season, it is often difficult to find train tickets because so many people are traveling. BSRTC has started this service so that people won’t have problems traveling.
