TVS is preparing to launch an affordable electric scooter in India, named ‘Orbiter.’ The company has finalized the production version and is set to release it soon. The TVS Orbiter will launch in India on August 28th, aiming to be a budget-friendly option, priced below the existing TVS iQube.
The current iQube models are priced from around ₹1 lakh to ₹1.59 lakh (ex-showroom). The Orbiter aims for a price point below ₹1 lakh. This will make it the new entry-level electric scooter for the brand, competing with models like the Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1 X.
The launch is strategically timed, right before the start of the festive season in India, which is often a peak period for automotive sales. TVS is anticipating increased sales with the addition of the new electric scooter.
The design, as suggested by patents filed in Indonesia, will include sleek styling with features such as LED daytime running lights, square LED headlights, LED tail lights, a visor, a dual-color paint scheme, and front disc brakes. The patent indicates a modern design. The company has not provided any official confirmation of the design yet, but it’s speculated this might be the Orbiter’s design.
