The Chhattisgarh Pavilion made a strong impact at the Osaka World Expo 2025, welcoming over 22,000 visitors on its opening day. The pavilion showcases Chhattisgarh’s heritage, industrial prowess, and tourism attractions.
Chhattisgarh is participating in the Expo under the India Pavilion, from August 24-30, 2025, at the invitation of the Indian Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO). The pavilion’s official inauguration was held on the first day.
The pavilion is designed to provide visitors with an engaging experience, highlighting Chhattisgarh’s cultural wealth, industrial strength, and tourism potential. It seeks to inform a global audience about Chhattisgarh’s progress and future opportunities.
The pavilion prominently features the beauty and heritage of Chhattisgarh. The focus is on Nava Raipur, India’s first greenfield smart city, which is designed for investment and industrial advancement. Chitrakot Falls, famous as the ‘Niagara of India,’ is also a major attraction.
Sirpur, representing history and faith, is a key feature. It is a large Buddhist site dating back to the 8th century AD, symbolizing Chhattisgarh’s deep cultural and spiritual heritage. Reflecting on this, Chhattisgarh promotes peace, inclusivity, and sustainable development, drawing inspiration from Buddhist values.
The pavilion emphasizes Chhattisgarh’s strategic location, and its significance as a multi-modal transport hub. Its central location and transportation networks make it a significant logistics hub nationally. The pavilion also highlights Chhattisgarh’s rapid growth in sectors like manufacturing, textiles, IT/ITES, electronics, and village industries, presenting the state as an attractive investment destination.
The pavilion showcases Chhattisgarh’s folk arts and crafts. Bastar’s Dhokra art, a 4,000-year-old GI-tagged metal craft, impresses with its beauty and originality. Kosa silk, Chhattisgarh’s cultural emblem, is a key attraction. Known for its natural shine, strength, and beauty, it is made from the Anthraea mylitta silkworm, found in the state’s forests. Artistic Kosa installations embody the soul of Chhattisgarh, representing a balance of spirituality, nature, and progress.
The Chhattisgarh Pavilion’s successful launch and high visitor turnout set the stage for the upcoming week. The pavilion celebrates cultural diversity while establishing Chhattisgarh as an emerging center for industrial growth and global investment opportunities.
