The Punjabi entertainment world is saddened by the passing of Jaswinder Bhalla, a renowned comedian, at 65 on August 22. He was admitted to Fortis Hospital. The final rites will be performed on August 23 in Mohali. Bhalla’s ability to deliver humor and create memorable characters brought him widespread popularity. Prior to his film career, he became known through stage performances and comedy albums in the 1980s and 1990s. He was featured in the film *Dulha Bhatti* and Jaspal Bhatti’s Hindi comedy *Mahaul Theek Hai*. He also starred in blockbuster Punjabi films like *Jatt & Juliet*, *Sardarji*, and the *Carry On Jatta* series. His performance as ‘Advocate Dhillon’ in *Carry On Jatta* was particularly popular. His use of unique catchphrases defined his characters and made even smaller roles memorable. He was married to Paramdeep, and their son Pukhraj Bhalla is an actor. They acted together in the film ‘Stupid 7’ (2013). He brought a distinctive comedic touch to supporting roles. Jaswinder Bhalla’s contributions to Punjabi cinema extended beyond entertainment; his memory will continue to inspire generations.
