Ranchi police are investigating the death of Lumba Oraon, whose body was discovered near his village in Jharkhand. The police have sent the body for a post-mortem and are questioning potential suspects. Local reports suggest a potential murder plot involving Lumba Oraon’s wife and her alleged lover.
The wife is said to have been involved in an extramarital affair with a contractor, escalating to an illicit relationship. The husband, Lumba Oraon, became an obstacle. In an effort to monitor his movements, the lover installed CCTV cameras in the home. The wife and her lover allegedly plotted to kill him.
Following the revelation of the affair, conflicts arose. Subsequently, the wife moved out, renting a place nearby.
It’s believed that on Wednesday night, the wife called Lumba to meet. During the meeting, she gave him alcohol, and on the way back, her lover murdered him. The body was then dumped behind bushes to make it appear as if he had died due to alcohol consumption. The wife kept in contact with the family to avoid suspicion.
Police were immediately notified after the body was found on Thursday. The body was then taken to RIMS Hospital for a post-mortem. The police have detained the wife and other suspects. The police have stated that those responsible will be arrested.
