Peter Navarro, a former White House trade advisor, has levied strong criticism against India’s involvement in the Ukraine conflict. He accused India of prioritizing its economic interests by purchasing Russian oil and strengthening its relationship with China’s Xi Jinping. Navarro stated that India’s actions are not supporting peace, but instead, are exacerbating the ongoing war. He also stated that India is avoiding responsibility for its part in the violence and bloodshed in Ukraine.
Navarro warned that the potential for doubled tariffs against India due to the purchase of Russian crude oil would not be delayed. He believes that India doesn’t require Russian oil. He highlighted the practice as a profitable refining scheme. He added that the money made by India from selling goods to the U.S. is used to purchase Russian oil. Russia then uses this money to produce weapons and harm Ukrainians. He described this as a very dangerous cycle.
