Beyond his explosive batting, Team India’s Sanju Samson is recognized for his outstanding fielding abilities. From IPL to international cricket, his fielding is a highlight. Samson consistently displays his fielding expertise, even in smaller tournaments. This was highlighted in a recent Kerala Cricket League match where his quick reflexes contributed to his team’s success. Sanju’s brother, Sali Samson, made a significant contribution.
The Samson brothers, Sanju and Sali, played for Kochi Blue Tigers in the Kerala Cricket League. The match against Adani Trivandrum Royals took place on August 21st. Trivandrum batted first, and their innings started poorly when opener Subin S was dismissed early. This early dismissal was a result of the Samsons’ impressive fielding partnership.
In the match, Sali Samson bowled the first over for Kochi. His first ball hit the stumps’ line. The batsman hit the ball to mid-off and attempted a run. Sanju quickly picked up the ball and threw it towards the non-striker’s end. Sali quickly moved to the stumps. Sanju’s throw was precise, and Sali completed the run-out.
The Samsons’ excellent fielding played a key role in restricting Trivandrum to 97 runs. Sali also showcased his fielding with a remarkable catch, diving backwards to take the ball. Kochi secured an easy victory by 8 wickets in 12 overs, with Sali, the team’s captain, scoring an unbeaten 50 runs off 30 balls, leading the team to victory while Sanju did not bat.
