Renault India has released a teaser for the updated Kiger SUV facelift. The sub-compact SUV is confirmed to launch on August 24th. This marks the first major update for the Kiger since its initial release in 2021, coinciding with a period of strong growth and competition in the compact SUV market.
The Kiger facelift, similar to the recent Nissan Magnite update, is anticipated to bring feature improvements and cosmetic changes. Upon its release, it will rival vehicles like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Nissan Magnite. The pricing is likely to be slightly higher than the current model, potentially starting around ₹6.2 lakh and reaching up to ₹11.5 lakh for the top-spec variant.
Based on the teaser, the focus is on design. The updated Kiger will feature a new lime green color and Renault’s updated 2D diamond logo. The design is expected to incorporate a redesigned grille, new bumpers, slim headlamps, and new LED DRLs. The rear will likely include new C-shaped tail lamps with new LED internals, offering a more modern appearance.
The engine options are expected to remain the same. The Kiger will be available with a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine, paired with manual, AMT, and CVT transmission options. A CNG version will also be offered via dealer fitment. Interior updates are also expected. These could include soft-touch materials, new upholstery, and minor changes to the dashboard layout. The vehicle might include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital driver display, wireless charging, and automatic climate control. Furthermore, it is expected to include six airbags.
