Cindy Rodriguez Singh, previously on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list, has been arrested and returned to the United States to face charges related to the death of her six-year-old son. FBI Director Kash Patel announced the arrest, noting Singh’s flight to India with her family in March 2023. Singh’s apprehension was made possible through the collaboration with Indian authorities and Interpol. She will now face charges in Texas.
The case started after a welfare check initiated by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services revealed the child had not been seen for several months. It was determined the child had several medical conditions. Singh reportedly misled officials, saying her son was in Mexico, and then fled to India with her family. She was added to the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list in July. Director Patel praised the collaborative efforts that led to Singh’s capture, reinforcing the FBI’s commitment to pursuing justice.
