In anticipation of the Hero Asia Cup 2025, slated to take place in Rajgir, Bihar, from August 29 to September 7, a trophy tour is traversing the state, visiting all districts. The tour, which kicked off on August 17, is designed to popularize hockey and generate excitement among the masses. The tour will not only cover all districts of Bihar but will also include stops in Chennai, Chandigarh (Punjab, Haryana), Delhi, Odisha, Assam, and Jharkhand. The primary goals of the tour include fostering a passion for hockey among youth, promoting a robust sports culture, and ensuring broad public involvement in the event. Following visits to Patna, Vaishali, and Bhojpur, the trophy tour reached Buxar, Muzaffarpur, and Motihari on Tuesday, each district hosting a grand welcome. At the Buxar Collectorate, a welcome ceremony featured District Magistrate Dr. Vidyanand Singh and Superintendent of Police Shubham Arya, who elaborated on the significance of the Asia Cup and its staging in Bihar. The players and the local people also gave a warm welcome to the trophy and the tour participants. In Muzaffarpur, the District Magistrate Subrat Sen, District Sports Officer Rajendra Kumar, physical education instructors Ram Kumar Rai and Karunesh Kumar, together with numerous players and locals, hosted the trophy tour at the Muzaffarpur Collectorate. The District Magistrate encouraged the players by participating in a symbolic hockey game.
In Motihari, a welcome ceremony for the trophy tour was held at the sports building and gymnasium. The District Magistrate of Motihari, Saurabh Jorwal, District Sports Officer Shubham Kumar, and District Development Commissioner Saurabh Suman Yadav, along with players and local residents, participated in a memorable welcome. District Magistrate Saurabh Jorwal provided a detailed overview of the Hero Asia Cup and motivated the players by symbolically playing hockey. The trophy tour receives an enthusiastic response in every district it visits. The trophy tour is scheduled to reach Rajgir on August 29 after completing its journey through all the districts of Bihar.
