The Gulbarga Mystics defeated the Hubli Tigers by 4 wickets in the Maharaja Trophy 2025 tournament. The Mystics’ chase got off to a rough start, losing three wickets with only 15 runs on the board. Smaran Ravichandran, the young player from Sunrisers Hyderabad, played a brilliant innings, scoring a half-century which significantly contributed to the Mystics’ win. He was aggressive against all the Hubli bowlers.
Hubli scored 158 runs in 20 overs, losing 8 wickets, with Krishnan Sreejith scoring 52 runs, including four fours and two sixes. Shivkumar Rakshit scored 36 runs, and Mohammad Taha scored 17 runs. Shashi Kumar and Lavish Kaushal each took two wickets for the Mystics. Gulbarga Mystics struggled early, losing three wickets quickly.
Ravichandran then changed the game, scoring 52 runs off 39 balls, including one boundary and three sixes, driving his team to victory. He and Prajwal Pawan formed a 71-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Ravichandran has performed exceptionally well this season, with an average of 42.33 and 127 runs in 5 matches, maintaining a strike rate of 141.11. He has 10 fours and 7 sixes to his name this season, securing the sixth position in the list of leading run-scorers. Sunrisers Hyderabad also acknowledged Ravichandran’s performance on social media.
This marks the Gulbarga Mystics’ third win of the season, placing them at fourth place in the points table.
