The cabinet meeting, held on August 19, 2025, and led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, concluded with important decisions. The meeting took place at the Mahanadi Bhawan in the Ministry. Key decisions included matters related to the PDS, specifically addressing the distribution of chickpeas.
The cabinet determined that the Civil Supplies Corporation will procure 2 kg of chickpeas monthly for Antyodaya and priority families residing in the scheduled and MADA pocket areas of the state. This will be achieved via the NeML e-auction platform. The transaction/service charges will be at 0.25% or less, as approved for the financial year 2024-25.
The cabinet also stipulated that beneficiaries who did not receive their chickpea allocation from July 2025 to November 2025, are to receive their due supply by December 2025.
Another important decision involved the development of Nava Raipur as an IT hub. The cabinet agreed to allot 90 acres of land at a concessional premium rate to encourage IT (IT/IITS) industries. This action seeks to attract investment into the IT sector and foster industrial expansion. Reduced land costs are expected to encourage private sector involvement and create new employment opportunities. This measure aims to boost technical and economic activities in Nava Raipur, reinforcing its urbanization and settlement. The establishment of IT firms will help develop infrastructure, thus providing direct and indirect benefits to local residents.
