The ashes of Dishom Guru were immersed in the Damodar River in Rajarappa on Sunday, marking the end of the post-death rituals. He performed the last rites for his father, Shibu Soren, who is credited with the creation of Jharkhand. The rituals were carried out in accordance with traditional Santhali practices. Basant Soren, the Chief Minister’s younger brother, along with his son and other relatives, attended the ceremony. After the 12-day mourning period, the Chief Minister traveled to Rajarappa from his ancestral village, Nemra. The solemn immersion of the ashes was performed with full respect on the banks of the Damodar River. Other religious traditions were subsequently observed by the family.
