Car manufacturers are preparing to launch new models in anticipation of the upcoming festive season. Maruti Suzuki and Renault India are planning to launch a new mid-size SUV and an updated Kiger in the coming months. The new mid-size SUV is planned for launch on September 3, 2025, while the updated Kiger will be launched on August 24, 2025. These new models will compete in different SUV categories. The upcoming Maruti SUV, tentatively called the Maruti Escudo, will feature new technologies and design elements, marking a first for Maruti in India. The updated Kiger is expected to be among the most affordable subcompact SUVs. The Renault Kiger will be updated with a mid-life refresh, and the teasers show a sporty look with C-shaped taillights, a new rear bumper, and a shark fin antenna. The 2025 Renault Kiger is expected to have major changes in design, including a new front fascia with the Renault logo and a revised grille. Some interior upgrades are also expected. The Kiger facelift will use the existing 1.0-liter naturally aspirated and 1.0-liter turbo petrol engines, which produce 72PS and 100PS, respectively, and will offer both manual and automatic gearboxes. A CNG kit will also be offered. Maruti Suzuki has not officially released the details of the new model set to debut on September 3, 2025. However, the new mid-size SUV is called the Maruti Escudo. The Escudo will have Dolby Atmos audio and Level-2 ADAS features. The car will feature a 4WD (Four-Wheel Drive) system, setting it apart in the segment. The powertrain, platform, features, and design elements of the Escudo are based on the Grand Vitara. The car will offer three engine choices: a 1.5-liter petrol, a 1.5-liter strong hybrid, and a CNG option. Some minor cosmetic changes are also expected. Reports suggest the Escudo will be slightly longer and have more boot space than the Grand Vitara.
