Scientists have discovered a planet in the vicinity of our stars that is similar to Earth, opening up the possibility of life. The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) was employed by scientists to find a large exoplanet. The exoplanet circles Alpha Centauri A, which is the star that is closest to our Sun. The planet is situated in the Alpha Centauri triple-star system, and the working name is Alpha Centauri Ab. Scientists have claimed that there is a possibility of water being present on its surface.
Direct imaging made the discovery possible, making it a major breakthrough in exoplanet science. If the discovery is verified, it will be the first time a potentially habitable planet has been discovered around our closest solar-type neighbor.
