Bobby Deol’s career has shown a notable comeback, with his villainous performance in ‘Animal’ earning him significant praise. The actor’s initial success came with his debut in ‘Barsaat’ in 1995. Despite this promising beginning, he encountered a series of unsuccessful films. One of these was ‘Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo,’ which featured a cast including Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan, and failed to perform well at the box office.
The film brought together Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, and Amitabh Bachchan. Directed by Anil Sharma, it was released in December 2004 and included Divya Khosla, Sandali Sinha, and Nagma in the cast, along with Danny Denzongpa, Ashutosh Rana, and Govind Namdev.
With a budget of ₹20 crore, ‘Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo’ only managed to collect ₹11.56 crore in India. Its worldwide earnings were ₹19.16 crore, significantly less than the budget. This made the film a box-office flop.
In contrast, Bobby Deol’s recent work in ‘Animal,’ where he played the villain Abrar Haque, resulted in a global collection of over ₹900 crore. This 2023 release, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Anil Kapoor, broke numerous box office records.
