Shortly after Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s retirement from international cricket, his close friend Suresh Raina also announced his retirement. Raina wrote on Instagram, “Playing with you (Dhoni) has been very special. With great pride, I want to join you on this journey. Thank you India, Jai Hind.”
Dhoni and Raina were instrumental in many memorable victories for Team India. They also played together for the Chennai Super Kings for a long time. Raina played 18 Tests, 226 ODIs, and 78 T20Is for India. The left-handed batsman scored 768 runs, including a century, in Tests, 5,615 runs, including five centuries, in ODIs, and 1,604 runs, including a century, in T20Is.
