Windows 11 users can anticipate a range of new AI features through Copilot, with Microsoft preparing to release several upgrades. The new features include the Copilot Vision tool, designed to scan and interpret the content visible on a user’s screen. This functionality aims to simplify processes, such as managing documents without needing to take photos and email them.
The implementation of these new features will be gradual, with a focus on providing these updates to all users. Specific features are designed for Copilot Plus PCs. Users will be able to access Copilot Vision via the Copilot app. This will enable users to ask the AI about on-screen content, spanning multiple applications and web pages, and request assistance for various PC tasks, such as enhancing picture lighting.
Microsoft’s report details the growing integration of AI. The majority of individuals are already using generative AI in their daily routines. Almost 60% of people use AI for work and business, and 64% use it for creative hobbies. Microsoft aims to make regular PC activities easier by integrating these AI capabilities. Users with Snapdragon-powered Copilot Plus PCs can access the AI agent directly from the Settings app.
A notable new feature is the AI-powered “Click to Do” preview. This will be especially useful for Copilot Plus PCs. This function enables users to perform actions such as summarising paragraphs, enhancing reading, and much more. Other upcoming features are an AI-powered sticker generator for Paint, an object select tool, AI lighting in Photos, and a screenshot tool driven by AI. These are planned for release in August alongside updates that are not AI-related, such as a color picker within the Snipping Tool, and a tool designed to prevent unexpected restarts.
