The Mahindra Bolero is set for a comprehensive overhaul in 2026, bringing a new generation of updates to this popular SUV. The updated Bolero will keep its rugged, boxy design, but it will be modernized with a new grille featuring vertical slats, integrated DRLs, and contemporary LED headlights. The exterior design will include a dual-tone alloy wheel design. The 2026 model will also introduce a new ‘Freedom NU’ flexible platform, scheduled for unveiling on August 15, 2025. The interior will be completely redesigned, featuring an all-black theme, a new three-spoke steering wheel, and a larger touchscreen infotainment system. The dashboard will be revised, and the vehicle will feature a semi-digital instrument cluster with a color TFT MID, along with dual-zone climate control. Higher trims might have a fully digital driver display. Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition may also be included. Furthermore, features like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, powered driver seat, push-button start, an auto-dimming IRVM, keyless go, ventilated front seats, and ambient lighting could be available. The engine will possibly be the existing 1.5-liter mHawk diesel unit, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, retaining the rear-wheel-drive configuration. Mahindra will produce the new Bolero at its Chakan plant, with an initial goal to manufacture around 1.2 lakh units.
