A man named Firoz Ali, who was accused of harassing a schoolgirl in Ranchi, Jharkhand, died by suicide shortly after being released on bail. The incident occurred near Upper Bazaar, within the Kotwali police station area. Ali had been in jail for about eight months before his recent release. Following the incident of harassment, a video went viral on social media, which led to the intervention of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who then directed the police to take action. The police subsequently arrested Ali and paraded him on the streets of Ranchi. He was then sent to jail. After being released on bail, Ali took his own life. He was found dead at his home on Nala Road in Hindpirhi on Saturday evening. His family immediately took him to RIMS Hospital, but doctors declared him dead. The police are now investigating the suicide.
