The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana is set to provide ₹152.84 crore in claim payments to 141,879 farmers in Chhattisgarh. The funds will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the insured farmers. The payments cover claims from both the Kharif and Rabi seasons, with ₹10.25 crore allocated to 33,943 eligible farmers from the Kharif season of 2024 and ₹142.58 crore for 107,936 eligible farmers from the Rabi season of 2024-25.
The payment will be executed on August 11 (Monday) using a direct benefit transfer system across the nation. The main event will take place in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, and will be led by Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajanlal Sharma, will be the chief guest. Additional attendees will include Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Bhagirath Choudhary and Rajasthan’s Agriculture Minister Dr. Kishori Lal Meena.
Insured farmers in Chhattisgarh will participate virtually in the program.
The program will begin at 12:00 PM. To facilitate widespread participation, the offices of the Deputy Director of Agriculture at the district level and the Senior Agriculture Development Officer at the block level have made the necessary arrangements for farmers to join virtually.
