Prashant Kishor, a prominent political strategist and founder of the Jan Suraj Party, has made explosive claims about corruption within the Bihar BJP, asserting that its leaders are more corrupt than RJD’s Lalu Yadav. The allegations focus on Health Minister Mangal Pandey and his alleged collaboration with Dilip Jaiswal, the current head of the state BJP unit.
Kishor highlighted what he described as inflated costs for ambulance procurement by the health department. He claimed that the price was significantly higher than in other states.
Further, Kishor alleged that Pandey favored Jaiswal by granting a medical college in Kishanganj deemed university status. He claimed that Jaiswal provided 25 lakh rupees to Pandey’s father, which was then used to purchase a flat in Delhi. Kishor also pointed out that Jaiswal signed as a witness to the property transaction.
Kishor questioned why the alleged loan from Jaiswal was not disclosed in Pandey’s election filings.
Kishor contrasted the BJP’s rhetoric about corruption with the actions of its own leaders, claiming they are more corrupt than Lalu Prasad. He criticized the BJP’s focus on the fodder scam and railway-related scandals, suggesting hypocrisy.
Kishor demanded an explanation from Pandey and Jaiswal about the financial dealings. Neither responded to the allegations.
Kishor also referred to a court ruling in Rajasthan that found a BJP minister guilty of producing counterfeit medicine, calling for accountability.
Furthermore, Kishor addressed the assault on a Bihari laborer in Haryana, seeking justice and action against the perpetrators, and questioning the inaction of the Haryana Police.
