A significant cabinet meeting of the Uttar Pradesh government, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, took place on Thursday. Several important proposals related to education, water supply, and economic development were approved. The meeting saw the passage of 19 proposals in total, encompassing the establishment of private universities and a scholarship scheme to support high-achieving students within the state. All cabinet and state ministers attended the meeting.
Furthermore, discussions centered on the current flood situation. One of the key decisions included the approval of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-Chevening Scholarship Scheme, which is a collaborative initiative with the UK’s The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). This scheme will provide scholarships annually to five meritorious students, enabling them to pursue Master’s degrees at accredited universities in the UK. The UP government and the UK institution will share the costs.
