As part of the Central Vista Project, the Indian government is constructing Kartavya Bhavan to centralize the operations of various ministries and departments. Located along Kartavya Path, this new complex represents a significant step towards modernizing government infrastructure. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to inaugurate three of the completed buildings on August 6th, including Kartavya Bhavan 3. This modern office complex covers around 1.5 lakh square meters, providing two floors and seven levels of office space. It will accommodate key ministries such as the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of External Affairs. Kartavya Bhavan is also equipped with 24 main conference halls, 26 smaller conference halls, and 67 meeting rooms. A command CCTV center will oversee the entire building. The Central Vista project is expected to replace buildings that are 50-60 years old, bringing ministries and departments together under one roof. The entire project is expected to be completed by June 2027. Solar panels have been installed throughout the building.
