Mercedes-Benz marks a significant achievement in the production history of its G-Class SUV, celebrating the production of its 600,000th unit from the Graz, Austria plant. This milestone vehicle is a G 580 model that integrates EQ technology, with an elegant Obsidian Black Metallic finish. Since its launch in 1979, the G-Class continues to be synonymous with enduring style and impressive performance.
The G-Class retains its instantly recognizable design, featuring round headlights, a boxy body, and the iconic exposed spare wheel. The new G-Class incorporates powerful features and a striking look. The G 580 EQ model, being fully electric, enhances the vehicle’s overall exterior design.
Mercedes-Benz has elevated the G-Class beyond its role as a traditional vehicle, transforming it into a customizable luxury experience. The MANUFAKTUR program, introduced in 2019, allows owners to personalize their G-Class. As of 2024, over 1 million unique combinations are available, with nearly 20,000 paint options.
A large number of customers, approximately 90 percent, have chosen to utilize the MANUFAKTUR program for customization. The G-Class is known for its exceptional off-road capabilities, including all-wheel drive, 100% locking differentials, and a robust ladder-frame chassis. It also features advanced driver-assistance systems and an improved infotainment experience.
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is a five-seater, full-size SUV, available with a starting price of ₹2.55 crore. It is offered in two variants, powered by a 2,925 cc engine and equipped with an automatic transmission. The G-Class comes with nine airbags, a ground clearance of 241 mm (unladen) and is available in five color options.
