The Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, stated Tuesday that the Indian Army should be ready to respond to any violent actions by Pakistan. Speaking at a function, the CDS said it is necessary to challenge Pakistan’s comprehensive resistance doctrine, stressing that terrorists cannot be allowed to hide anywhere in Pakistan. He reiterated that military readiness must be maintained at the highest level, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, during the inaugural session of the annual Trident lecture series. He highlighted how the boundaries between war and peace have blurred, with the two seemingly merging.
