The Chhattisgarh government has made adjustments to the discount limits under its half-electricity bill program. The changes involve replacing the previous structure of providing a discount on up to 400 units of monthly electricity usage with a 50% rebate on consumption up to 100 units per month. The government noted that about 31 lakh out of the state’s 45 lakh domestic consumers (roughly 70%) do not consume more than 100 units each month.
Notwithstanding the changes, the Chhattisgarh government has assured that these 31 lakh families, encompassing both general consumers and those from lower economic strata, will continue to benefit from the scheme without any alterations. Roughly 70% of domestic consumers across the state will keep benefitting from the half-electricity bill program. The state government is steadfast in its dedication to provide relief to low-income families regarding their electricity expenses.
