Tesla has launched its first charging station in India, providing a crucial service for its electric vehicle owners. The station opened in Mumbai on August 4, 2025, and is located in the One BKC complex in Bandra-Kurla. The facility includes four Supercharging stalls and four Destination Charging stalls.
The Supercharging stalls provide high-speed charging at 250 kW, with a cost of ₹24 per kilowatt. Destination chargers offer a slower charging option at 11 kW, priced at ₹14 per kilowatt. Tesla intends to expand its charging network by opening three more stations in India by the end of the September 2025 quarter. These will be located in Lower Parel, Thane, and Navi Mumbai, demonstrating the company’s commitment to supporting EV infrastructure.
The Tesla Model Y is offered in two versions: the Rear-Wheel Drive, starting at ₹59.89 lakh, and the Long-Range Rear-Wheel Drive, priced at ₹67.89 lakh. Deliveries for the base model are anticipated in the third quarter of 2025, with the Long-Range model deliveries expected in the fourth quarter (October-December). Specific delivery dates have not been officially announced yet.
Tesla officially entered the Indian market on July 15 with the Model Y launch, priced from ₹59.89 lakh. The company also established its first experience center. Initially, high import duties had delayed Tesla’s entry, but the Model Y is now being sold as a completely built-up unit from the Shanghai plant.
