A family in the Simdega district of Jharkhand has been struck by tragedy as a father-in-law and daughter-in-law died from electrocution. The incident occurred in Karadmair village, Bano block. Alfos Hobo and Kumudini Dungdung were present at their home when the fan broke down. Alfos Hobo offered to fix it, but he was electrocuted upon contact with the fan. His daughter-in-law, Kumudini Dungdung, rushed to help, only to suffer a similar fate. A villager, Dilip Kandulna, who went to assist, also received an electric shock but survived. Both Alfos Hobo and Kumudini Dungdung were declared dead at the Bano Community Health Center. The village is now in mourning and filled with fear regarding electricity.
This unfortunate event follows a previous incident in 2024 near Ranchi’s Tamar police station, where a wedding bus hit a live wire, causing the deaths of three, including a minor, and injuring five.
