Bihar is set to host the Under-20 Asian Rugby Sevens Championship 2025 in Rajgir on August 9th and 10th. This event will be the first of its kind in the state, bringing together teams from 12 different Asian nations.
The championship will showcase 8 men’s and 8 women’s teams. Participating countries include India, Hong Kong, China, UAE, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia (men only), and Nepal (women only). There’s significant enthusiasm surrounding the event.
Rahul Bose, a former rugby player, lauded the championship as a reflection of Bihar’s progress in sports. He complimented CM Nitish Kumar’s vision and the infrastructure developments for sports, including the Rajgir stadium, which meets international standards. Bose believes that this event will significantly elevate the sports culture in Bihar and provide new opportunities for the youth.
